Mantras are known as that set of words that are recited to invoke a specific Divinity. These mantras must be recited in a particular meditation process so that they can give results and thus connect, inescapably, with that higher being that will bring enlightenment to our life.

Many people wonder if the words or phrases we use in Ho’oponopono are mantras, or as some call them, trigger words or magic words.  I think the most important thing is to use them, and not try to name them. You can call them or understand them whatever you want, but what is important here is that you use them.

A very important aspect within Ho’oponopono is precisely to recite these words in order to be able to react less, to be able to be more present, and to give permission to Divinity to transmute and inspire us with the perfect solutions to all our problems.

Observe your thoughts or emotions and let them pass, as you do in meditation, that’s why I also say that Ho’oponopono can be considered a meditation. A 24-hour meditation.

Again, I’ll remind you that the main purpose of the Ho’oponopono technique is to resolve conflicts, not so much to understand, but to work and find the long-awaited peace that we all seek (even if the problems are still there). That is why it is important to use those mantras, trigger words, tools (whatever you want to call them) of Ho’oponopono, that your inspiration dictates, at the moment of practicing it!

Ho'oponopono mantras: The best possible choice

In Ho’oponopono, you can use the famous magic words, the way it works for you, just follow your own inspiration. The main idea of this philosophy is that you can assume responsibility for what you attract to your life and, at the same time, you can heal the memories or programs that are affecting you. We are talking about memories of the past that show up as difficulties in our lives.  And this could mean memories from past lives or even memories from our ancestors.

The more you repeat the words, the better result you will have with the Ho’oponopono meditation. The memories are playing and replaying 24 hrs a day.

One of the best-known mantras of Ho’oponopono is the famous 4 phrases: “I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you“. Simple, but effective, this mantra summarizes what Ho’oponopono tries to achieve in all its phases, the main thing being to take responsibility for the acts (sorry), in an act of regret (forgive me).

I would like to clarify a few things here:

  1. Please do not confuse taking responsibility with what you are guilty of. We are only responsible for the memories that are in our subconscious minds, which manifest in certain situations in our life.
  2. You can just repeat “thank you” or “I love you,” because that replaces what Ho’oponopono really is: “I’m sorry, forgive me for whatever is in me that has created this.”

In addition to these mantras mentioned above, you can also find others as very simple and easy, and they are all interchangeable.

You can mix these mantras with the many other Ho’oponopono magic words, by following your own inspiration.

At the end of the day, what is really sought is to let go and go with the flow in life. Live more in peace, react less.

You now know Ho’oponopono’s basic mantras, trigger, and magic words.
