Right now, the world is yearning for change in every corner of the world—in our politicians and leaders, in our religions, in our education and health care systems, in the way we treat each other and the way we care for the earth. We want change. Of course, the bigger question is: can we change our world? In today’s complex times, it’s hard to know who we can believe and trust. Mankind lacks the capacity to recognize the difference between truth and falsehood. The easy answer is to think our way out of our problems—to want to change the world with our intellect.
But you and I know that the intellect is an excellent servant but a horrible master. It not only lacks the ability to recognize falsehood but also lacks the necessary power to defend itself against the negative fields that most of society find themselves caught in. I’m talking about a society that is almost “possessed,” which is another way of saying they are totally unconscious of their motives, as if caught in a dream, not of their own making.
